Prices run from 62p a day for tails.com's advertised personalised dry food to £2.34 a day for Butternut Box's example 12–15 kg dog, both checked on 21 October 2026. Each review states whether we used the product ourselves, what we did and did not do, and when we last checked the prices.

Buying questions our reviews answer

The questions UK owners search for most about these brands, answered from the prices and terms in each review. Each review gives the full working and sources.

Are dog food subscriptions worth it?

A dog food subscription is worth it if the convenience and the recipe matter more to you than the price, because fresh food costs more a day than most dry food. Butternut Box publishes prices from £2.34 a day for its example 12–15 kg, two-year-old dog, checked on 21 October 2026. The complete dry foods in our dog food comparison cost about £0.57 to £1.54 a day for a 20 kg dog. tails.com sits in between as a personalised dry food advertised from 62p a day. Different Dog publishes no price until you sign up, and charges £3.99 for weekday delivery. Compare all of them in our dog food subscriptions comparison before you commit.

Why is Lily's Kitchen so expensive?

Lily's Kitchen is sold as a premium brand, and its dry dog food cost about £1.21 to £3.00 a day for a 20 kg adult dog on the prices in our Lily's Kitchen review (checked 21 October 2026). Where you buy it matters: large bags at zooplus and the brand's own 20% subscription cost much less a day than single small bags from its shop. Nestlé Purina PetCare bought Lily's Kitchen. If cost is the main concern, the dog food cost guide shows what budget, mid-range and premium feeding costs per month.

How much is Itch flea treatment?

Itch listed flea treatment at £8.50 a month for cats and £9.00 to £10.50 a month for dogs, depending on weight, on 21 October 2026. The first box's flea treatment is free with £3.49 postage. Our Itch review found it costs about the same as buying the same treatment yourself, so you pay for the monthly routine rather than a stronger product. The flea and worm subscriptions comparison sets Itch against other UK services. Prescription wormers and flea treatments are a matter for your vet.

Is YuMOVE any good?

YuMOVE is a clearly labelled joint supplement, sold as a complementary feed rather than a medicine, that relies on glucosamine and green-lipped mussel rather than chondroitin. For a 16–30 kg dog the maintenance dose is two tablets a day, about £0.95 a day on 60-tablet packs of the Adult tablet or £0.64 on 120-tablet packs, checked on 21 October 2026 in our YuMOVE review. Joint supplements support joint function; they do not treat arthritis. Our guide to whether dog joint supplements work sets out what the published studies show, and if your dog is stiff or lame, contact your vet.

Is zooplus legit?

Yes. zooplus is a legitimate German online pet retailer delivering across the UK. On 21 October 2026 it was cheaper than or level with Pets at Home on all 5 identical products we priced, £168.78 against £181.35 in total, with free standard delivery from £39. Its Trustpilot score was 3.4 out of 5, lower than Pets at Home's 4.2 out of 5, with complaints mostly about couriers and slow refunds. The zooplus review has the delivery bands, returns rules and the full price table.
